Welcome
to
"The DNA Revolution"
(01:119:140:01),
This course was originally developed by Sewell Champe, Pam Champe, and William Sofer. It is dedicated to the memory of Sewell Champe.

The DNA Revolution is a three credit, introductory course for non-science majors. The course is aimed at students who have taken high school-level courses (or their equivalent) in biology and chemistry. However, there are no formal prerequisites, and the course is open to anyone interested in learning about how life works. In particular, the course will give you an insight into the enormous increase in understanding of basic biology that has occurred over the past 30 years. It will also put you in a better position to understand the technological breakthroughs that will have a profound influence on your life in the coming decades.

Note: Students who are currently enrolled in any of the departments in the Division of Life Sciences (Genetics, MBB, CNB or Biology) can take this course (some have even found it useful), but they will not be awarded credits toward their major.
