FAQ:

1. When does the course begin?
The start date is Wednesday September 6, 2006 promptly at 1:40PM. The class meets in the Waksman Institute, room 1001, on the Busch Campus. You should make it a priority to come to this first meeting. Unfortunately, the closest bus stop to the Institute is located about 10 minutes away (by foot), and parking is very limited (the Waksman lot is gated. Only about a half dozen spaces are located outside the gates). Plan accordingly.

2. How important is it that I come to the first class?
Very. First of all the class only meets once a week. So if you skip any particular class, you are missing out on a lot of vital information. Second, the first class is probably the most important. We go over the philosophy of the course as well as the mechanics. If you don't get this informtion, you'll be at a distinct disadvantage. Finally, there is a severe grade penalty for unexcused absences: You lose a 1/2 grade for each class that you don't attend. This includes the first class as well.

3. Which browser should I use?
We have tested our software with Internet Explorer for both the Macintosh and PC and with Safari and FireFox for the Mac. Make sure that you have the Flash 6.0 or greater plug-in. If you need to access the site from home, make sure that you have a fast connection.
